From the pre-guide, "Classic Coll's Cove highball slab! Start of blank face with left foot on a good seam. Keep finding hidden feet till a crux at the top." Trust me, bring a strong mental game for this one, but the immaculate gritstone slab is well worth the reward.

Start right on a good pinch, and feet in a hard-not-to-dab spot. Move through pinches and crimps to the easier jug haul which leads up and over the point A tall proud line with a bad landing.

Start on the feet of Bhante Pema and climb slightly right of the Bhante Pema start, on the blunt arete with pockets. After a couple moves, make some long, tense moves way right to a seam. Follow the seam up and left to rejoin with the high seam on Bhante. Starting with right hand in the seam is perhaps soft v9 (originally done as Buny Puma). A sit start from the right may also have been done at V11. 

Start with your left in an undercling pocket and your right hand getting whatever friction you can manage, stand up to get a sloper rail with your right. Tech your way straight up the slopers with high feet, mantling, and trust in friction.

Sit start matched in vertical seam. Use a variety of techniques to reach the ledge and mantel. Continue to topout.

The "little black" project has fallen to local legend Joel Brady. Start low with both hands in good underclings. Climb up and right to a good vertical seam, then hit the top and topout.

Same start as White Lightning, move up and traverse across the obvious ledge.  At the end of the traverse, use the pocket to move up and to the right to complete the topout on the far right of the boulder. 

Climb up the left side of the beautiful white slab perched on the sketchy edge. Ideally don't fall, because if you pop too far off then you will plummet another good 10 feet past the small ledge to the ground. Good holds throughout though. This problem provides an awesome view from the copout.

Start with a good left high sloping rail and a decent right hand side-pull, smear with good feet and then bump up to the juggy arete you will follow to the top.

Sit start on awkward sharp holds. Bump up to the immaculate iron crimp/pinch hold, and then mantle up onto the somewhat sloping ledge. The topout is easy after standing up on the mantle ledge, but the mantle itself is full value.

THE best V2 in the whole boulder field. Stand start low in the white-lined crack feature. Move up through a few jugs, then tech the crux using a variety of small shallow pockets to an easy mantle.

Start matched on the L shaped jug flake in the middle of the face. Power up through slopey crimpers to the top and mantle out.

Sit start low on an obvious diagonal rail near a tree and move up and left along the feature to a technical award top out.A V3+ (suggested) variation: Start from the low left-most crack and move right along to the original start of Penetrating the Weakness, then follow the line.

Nice easy highball. Low crux after second or third move leads to jugs along a large flake.

Start matched on sloper dish, slap up blunt arete up and left to the top, mantle.

Start left hand on the lowest sloper on the lip, and right hand on good undercling. Make blind moves up amazing sloper pockets to a casual topout using the left arete.

Start same as normal, but do not use the detached boulder for feet. Makes it harder and a bit awkward, but its still amazing!

Sit start and work your hands up the slopey feature. The first move is the toughest.

Start low on blunt arete with bad feet. Climb up and left through slopers to the top.

Start from the same jug Snake starts on, but head straight up through pockets. Topout might be dirty -- it might be best to just drop down after you are fully standing on the slab (judge for yourself)

Start on the jug to the right of the sassafras tree, and then use jugs on the overhanging face to through over the top of the bulge to get a solid hold (crux) before topping out.

Climb the blunt arete that resembles the namesake continent. Start on a good crimp line. Bump to the arete, and then figure out high feet and the right hand sequence to top out way above your crash pad.

Sit start on the right side of the arete with left hand on pointy undercling and right wherever. Using the detached boulder to your left for feet, maneuver up the overhanging arete using holds on both sides.

Sit start on obvious sloping jug. Use crazy core tension to climb the side pull system up and right to the jug of the stand start and finish from there.

Start with a left heel and hands matched on a jug. Bump over to the right leaning crack feature and continue to climb up it till you can find some ok feet before reaching some positive overhanging jugs towards the top. From there, traverse right until you can top out.

Climb the slab to the right of Croc Hunter (V6).

Start as low as you can on the slopey lip, with a good left hand and right hand under the roof. Get a left heel on and start slappin your way to the point.

The lines on this boulder were hiding for a long time--they may have been done at some point in the past, given that they're not that difficult, but the climbing is quite amazing and beautiful, though very spicy at perhaps 25 feet. Standing in the middle of the warm-up area (with Thumb Wrestling to your right), look up the hill and left--you'll see a tall boulder jutting out of the rhodos. Walk past the boulder below the rhodo line, and then cut back and right, ducking through the rhodos until you arrive at this quite tall boulder. All of the problems on this boulder are quite tall on lovely stone...a fall would almost certainly mean serious injury. From left to right, the arete is perhaps V1, with an easy exit mid-way if it gets too scary. The face immediately right is perhaps v3 with the most committing moves up in the no-fall zone. To the right, the system of flakes through the dihedral is very easy (V0?) to the lip, but the lip mantle is a bit tricky and perhaps V3, and a fall would be very unpleasant.

Sit start on your choice of crimps. Move up to bad crimps, use more worse crimps, and hit the top. If you didn't get it by now, you better be good on crimps for this one!

The low start to Stevie Wonder starts with right hand in a double pocket, left hand on the arete. Slap up blindly to the sloper pockets of Stevie Wonder and topout.

Stand start on the "turtle back rock" with hands on the reach starting pockets. Campus out to the edge of the "hatchet" and then topout on the point. 

Sit start and climb the right side of the striking white gritstone arete.

Stand start and finesse your way up a deceptively hard crack feature which doesn't really allow for jamming but requires the use of sloping crimps. 

Start as low as you can on the rail feature under the roof, with a right heel on. Move into crux holds, fire a big shouldery move, try not to dab, then mantle onto face. No topout necessary, just be standing on your feet. Many variations exist on this boulder and will be described in better detail in the future.

Stand start on pocket and side pull, climb straight up slab.

Start on a rounded flake and move up to the interesting roof encounter and mantle/pull over it to the slab. Get your extra credit by going all the way to the top.

Sit start on the lowest seam. Climb the diagonal seams up the face finding decent footholds as well. Top out, and then down climb left.

Easy first couple moves up to a mono pocket on the left and a big reach to the top.

Hand and fist jams in SW PA? Look no further! Follow the crack up to an easy top out. You probably could find some jugs in or around the crack, but come on... use the hand jams!

Start matched on a jug on the detached block and then make long reaches and balancy moves through the awkward top out.

Climb the dihedral feature to a tricky topout. Fun stemming movements at the beginning culminate in a big reach for a sloper before the topout.

Sit start on right side of the boulder with right hand on a small pinch. Move up to a large slopey sidepull, then follow crack feature up and left to the same mantle ledge as Thumb Wrestling. The right arete is off, but you wouldn't use it anyway.

Start low on good holds. Climb the tall beautiful face on a series of slopey crimp rails. The aretes are off on both sides, but its still pure.

The description I saw for this problem gives it a V4, but it felt incredibly soft. I'm leaving it as is until others give their input.

 Start on the obvious underclings in the middle of the left face. Shoot up and mantel the obvious feature about halfway up the face and then continue the easy face climb to the top.

The business is all of three moves, approximately two feet off the ground. Start to the right of Like the Dickens and The Snake (see PDF topo), back in the little cave. Pull through some very tiny holds, utilizing a key toe hook out left. Join The Snake and exit up and right. A difficult problem to grade--it has seen a flash.

This area hosts the best of the best at Coll's Cove! So many classics, so many more to find and do! The main area refers to all the boulders scattered beneath the cliff line. The rock here is "pa gritstone", which is more similar to LRC in Chattanooga than Coopers Rock in WV.
