Fun route with great, thoughtful climbing. This route (along with those nearby) have good photo op potential with the over head bridge. Belayer clips into the fixed rope at the base to keep from falling into the black hole behind.

Technical climb on steep terrain. Go left after the 5th bolt to finish on "Gelatinous Cube's Deadly Solvent".

Stem between walls, transition to the face, then enjoy a fun jug haul to the anchors. One of the longest routes at Monster Rock.

Starts 3' to the right of ledge before Crawl under Boulder. 5.10 start to easier climbing back to 5.10 climbing up above. This seems to be consistent in the 5.10 climbs on the D&D wall. Most start out at the grade, eases up, then final moves are back at the grade.

A variation of this climb, "Swordmaiden of Rohan", is a good 5.7. Stop at the first set of anchors. If you want to do the 5.8, clip the bolt to the left of the anchors instead and keep going. Both are very enjoyable.

Definitely one of the best 5.9's at Monster Rock. Some interesting holds make the climb memorable. Stick clip is recommended.

A very fun 5.6 route. A great intro climb to the Pit...gets you used to climbing in the pit...with both walls being so close to each other. It's easy terrain, great holds all the way up. Starts of on low angle climbing and slowly steepens up but never gets quite vertical. Very fun.

Climb the face between the boulders and find a way past the cave (crux).

A variation of 22 Eyed Beholder...Climb 22 Eyed and between bolts 4 and 5, traverse left to another bolt and finish on Gelatinous Cube's anchors. Slightly harder than 22 Eyed.

Very fun , easy traverse. It's the easiest traverse and maybe the longest traverse at M-Rock. Starts on Grendel and essentially traverses the pit on D&D wall to either Swordmaiden's anchors (10 bolts) or anchors right of the bridge (12 bolts). Make sure you bring long draws or runners to minimize drag. I included a PG-13 safety rating because if you fell after a bolt, it would not be a clean fall...for most of the climb, you are on some kind of a ledge, which means you would be in for major cheese grating on some sharp limestone. It would not be pleasant.

Technical crux down low leads to easier climbing in the middle and a potentially tough finish.

This climb is a really fun and tricky to onsight! A fun lower crux gives way to easier climbing and an upper crux guards the anchors. A Monster Rock must-do!

A steep face with good holds leads to some tricky slab. Beware of the fall potential on the boulder below the route.

This is a variation route of sky full of dementors. This route avoids upper and lower cruxes of SFOD. Can use boulder to stem off (to start) and at the cave above, clip with long draw and traverse the cave to Swordmaiden's anchors.

Very thin route...on slightly overhanging start. This is a tough climb for the grade and it doesn't let up. There is a belay station below the route. The route is farthest route down the pit on D&D wall (Right Side).

Start on Crawl-Under Boulder...clip first high bolt. The line climbs directly under the cactus. The anchors are hidden behind the cactus...Looks like cactus have been deneedled. Safe. Fun and Easy for 5.8.

Climbing is similar to it's brother routes to it's left and right...although not as good. Though good on its own, ut has the unfotunate existence of being the red-headed step sibling to it's neighboring routes. Starts out as 5.10 climbing...eases up...crux up top. Or crux down low...eases up...5/10 climbing above. I've heard it both ways.

This route is on the far right of this wall and features thin, technical climbing up a good face. Sometimes it is wet due to neighbors sprinkler runoff. Guidebook says to beware of neighbor's poison ivy.

This is a variation to "Creeping Doom" where you climb the face directly instead of stemming between the walls.

This climb can feel reachy for shorter climbers and taller climbers will probably find it easier than 5.9. Definitely and interesting crux. Stick clip is recommended.

D&D Wall is on the main cliff and pairs with Horror Movie Wall to form a narrow canyon (aka. Pitfiend Pit). 

  Tolkein Wall is the small portion of main cliff just outside of the canyon. 

  These walls provides most of the easier routes in the park, ranging 5.7 to 5.11a. They include excellent sustained face routes at 5.10c, 5.10d, and 5.11b/c. This is a great place to learn leading 5.7/5.8/5.9/5.10 with no runouts.
