This is the right hand, hand crack of the face, easy climbing to a bulging step left into the crack proper, jam your way to the top. Try not to grin inanely all the up.

The Bendix Claws

About halfway between Invisibility Lessons and Continuum, is this very hard route.  Its a 5.13 that isn't overhanging and that should convey a lot.  Ultra thin face moves through the initial three bolt section lead to a discontinuous crack finish.  The line was originally rap bolted by some Euros back around 85.   The bolts disappeared quickly until Paul Borne did it ground up, perfectly situating them for the route.

Climb a thin crack that fades higher and move right into another thin crack system that leads to the top. Thin and continuous movement make this a demanding lead.

The route starts near the right end of the wall on Invisibility Lessons. Once past the small roof of that route, go left on the face to some thin cracks which are then followed to the top. You'll find both crack and face moves in the 10b range on this route.

Very nice start, solid, and nice moves to the top of an "arrow head" where nice climbing encounters the crack. Jam, and enjoy good gear to an awkward right bending crack. Negotiate the crack with no foot holds the right with balance, and walk the ledge. Jam through the rest of the tough climbing and finish up near a wide horizontal crack, great for anchoring. Give a weird look to your partner when they come up the climb, and complain about the awkward right bending crack. It was totaly comfortable, right? ha ha.

Crux is at the start, the landing would be painful.

This route is just to the right of Invisibility Lessons. Climb up a crack to the horizontal, and then face climb past 4 bolts.

This mixed route is in between Bendix Claws to the left and Continuum to the right.  A left leaning crack leads to two bolts to a 5.10 crack (that parallels Bendix Claws) with a pin, to a one bolt face finish.

This takes the line up to and out of the big hole, just left of the Bendix Claws.  Climbing into the hole is not too bad, but is thin and unprotected.  You can camp out in the hole before committing to climbing up and out on tight hand jams in slippery polished rock--except for the one sharp crystal biting into the back of your hand.

Gongratulations! You've completed the sandbag crux. Pull up and out, and finish on the enjoyable handcrack.

The moves past the bolt (5.11a) are technical and cruxy and while the crack above isn't terribly difficult (5.10+), hanging out too long to place gear could take it's toll. Descend by walking off to the climber's left.

Yet another great crack on the Future Games Wall, and one that's perfect after warming up on the easier climbs on the wall. Three stars out of five.
